Super Bowl

The Super Bowl was on my Mom's birthday this year, but I wasn't home to go to the annual family Super Bowl party. I did call my mom and wish her a happy birthday though. And I still got to watch the game even though I don't have a TV. Everyone went over to Ice and Joel's place for some Super Bowl fun!
I made an appetizer of mini rye breads with cream cheese, cucumber and dill. It was what I call a half good for you and half bad for you appetizer. And I must say I am coming around to cucumber more and more these days, but I still can't do it alone with nothing to hide part of the flavor. I really do wish I liked cucumber more seeing as how I love how fresh and crisp it smells.
When Goose, CB Radio and I got to the party I made a "grid" so there could be some gambling involved; who doesn't love a little side action betting. There would be a winner every quarter and the prize money got greater for each quarter. If you won the final score you would win the most money. And of course who won.....none other than "please just say my name once so I feel like I could win" CB Radio. I did win the second quarter after the interception for a touchdown by Pittsburgh at the very end of the second quarter! I didn't want it to count, but then I heard my name as a possible winner and loved that it was going to stand.
At halftime we got some Atomic wings, right next door by the way. I have never had Atomic Wings before and Joel loves them so I wasn't sure what I would be in for. They were pretty good, but not as meaty as Murray's wings. In my opinion it is kind of hard to mess up Buffalo sauce, but as you will read in a later post, hopefully coming soon, it is possible and I had some.
In the end Arizona didn't win, damn, but it was still a good Super Bowl. All I can ever ask for when watching the super bowl is that it is a good game that keeps you interested throughout. And I am happy Joel and Ice asked us over otherwise I may have not been able to see the game or had to go to a bar by myself and look like a total loser.

I watched the Super Bowl, but there was no "touchdown" with a baby on the way.

Snow

It has been so long since I last posted I can't really remember what happened on the weekend Ando came up to visit, which is where I am on the blog. I have been a little busy flying back and forth from New York to Cincinnati and trying to find Ando and I an apartment to live in. Finding an apartment in New York is no easy task, and you have to pay someone a brokers fee as well when they do absolutely nothing.
So back to Ando coming up to visit. I do remember that is was very last minute when he decided to come. He bought a plane ticket at 11:30pm on Friday and was in New York around 4pm on Saturday! That night we went to TB's apartment to see if we could get infected; no really it was his roommates birthday and they were having a party. This was my first time to TB's place and it was nice. It wasn't as far out as I was expecting at all.
After hanging out at TB's for a little bit we decided to go bowling since his place is just around the corner from the bowling alley. I know bowling twice for me in 5 short months, who would've thunk. After bowling, where I came in second yet again, that seems to be my position of choice when it comes to bowling, Joel won, we headed back to TB's for some more free alcohol and hanging out.
On Sunday we went to brunch with DKNY, BH, Mateo and Coriander. CB Radio and Goose were going to come, but then it would just be way too many people to try and get into brunch. We were also going to try a new restaurant, but we would have take up the entire place even without CB Radio and Goose.
After brunch Ando and I went over to Mateo and Coriander's for some playoff football and just hanging out. When we were finished with that we headed to SoHo to meet up with DKNY, BH and their friends. We all went out to dinner together and on the way home it started to snow. The rest of the night was spent inside at Living in Sin Part II's place drinking and playing some board games.
On Monday I had to work so Ando had to hang with his bro the whole day. For dinner Ando and I headed over to Goose and CB Radio's; they were nice enough to make us some mulligatawny. Joel and Ice came over as well to hang out with us before Ando had to leave the next day.
Oh and on a side note Ando and I shared a twin bed the whole weekend. You know how much we love to cuddle! It really wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, once we got two pillows. We had to share a pillow on the first night and that didn't go so well. Sleeping on a corner of a pillow isn't really sleeping at all. Luckily Mateo and Coriander let us borrow a pillow for the rest Ando's visit and sleeping was much much better.
Ando came to visit me; I didn't have any big baby news to share with him.

Xavier vs. Fordham

Ok, I know this is well over due so I am going to do my best to catch up with the blog before I leave on Friday to head back to Cincinnati.

I am up to January 11th, a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Mateo, Coriander, BH and DKNY all went with me to the Xavier vs. Fordham game in the Bronx. Tickets were only $10 and we could take the subway so everyone decided to go this time around. We met up before hand to eat some breakfast/brunch before making the hour and a half subway ride up to the Bronx. Well, hop stop told us it would take that long. It ended only taking about and hour or so to get there, but we still had to find the gym on campus. As we were walking toward campus looking for the gym BH stepped in a huge puddle from all the melting snow and soaked her whole foot. She already wasn't overly excited about going to the game and now she had a wet foot to boot. I offered to buy her a new pair of socks from a little stand, but she said she didn't want them and was fine.We finally found the gym and the entrance, there is only one because it literally is a "gym" not an arena. Then we found our seats; they were four rows behind the scorer's table near center court. We couldn't believe these tickets only cost $10 and you could buy more expensive $15 seats.
Before the game started BH had to go use the restroom which apparently meant you had to leave the gym and where they took your ticket; you could just come back in with a torn ticket stub after. This kind of thing would never fly at a large arena.Watching a college basketball game in a "gym" four rows back was quite and experience. It was almost like watching a pick-up game. The game was close for awhile too which brought the Fordham fans into it and made the gym really loud. I kind of hope that Xavier plays Fordham every year up in the Bronx because I would definitely go. Oh, and we got to see a winner this time around which wasn't bad.Halftime, I almost forgot to mention was BH's favorite part; it was kids with special needs playing basketball. BH is a sucker for anything that has to do with special needs children. She even wanted to go sit next to them at one point during the game.

I made the trip up to the Bronx; I do not have a child on the way to name Bronx.
