Tetanus

I am blogging from my parents house today so there will be no pictures included in this blog. My weekend was a smashing good time. Friday night was just Jenster, Ando and I. We headed downtown to Nicholson's for dinner. They have a small outside dining area, which we sat at, and Kentucky Bourbon Ale on tap. Dinner was very good again, my second time there; I have liked what I got each time.

After dinner we headed down to the Gypsy Hut. None of us had been there in a long long time and the patio is now open since it is warm so why not check it out. Ando and I told Rando about the engagement and each received a hug from him. I also got a congrats from Pablo and a high five from Lambic. I didn't know so many people would be this happy for us.

While we were sitting outside, very uncrowded by the way, a dude came up and started talking to us about the band that was playing. He gave us some buttons and stickers trying to promote the band a little. He was obviously wasted and if you know us we aren't the little social butterflies that can talk to anyone. He finally left us alone, only to then come back a couple of minutes later. This time he just kept talking and talking and we couldn't get rid of him. I finally pawned him off on Matt Mallory, which I am guessing he wasn't too happy about. I kept looking over there and he wouldn't leave them alone either. He did say that he enjoyed meeting us when we were leaving though; what a nice guy.

I got to work a girls lacrosse game Saturday morning/early afternoon. Girls lacrosse boggles my mind because you aren't allowed to touch each other. If you do it is a foul and play stops. Needless to say play stops a whole lot in girls lacrosse. And of course the game went into overtime just for my enjoyment. Luckily overtime is sudden death and Lakota scored right away.

After my work filled morning I came home to Ando ripping down our porch ceiling. I know you can't believe that after 2 years of a broken porch swing and ceiling it finally came down to be repaired. Hopefully it won't take another 2 years to put back up. While Ando was ripping down the porch I decided our newly planted tree needed some watering, it was looking a bit droopy. While I was putting the hose by the tree I stepped on a rusty nail from the porch. It went through my shoe, sock and skin for a nice bleed. I have no idea when my last tetanus shot was so I called my doctor friends for their advice on whether I should go that day to get the shot or if I could wait till Monday. I got 2 go get the shot nows and 2 wait till Monday's. I didn't know which advice to take so I looked up how much it would be to go to Urgent Care right away. The price turned out to be the same as a doctor's visit so I went and spent way longer than I needed to in the Urgent Care.

All I needed was a Tetanus shot, which I told them and she said it would be $50. I didn't think it would be that much, but then she said if I saw the doctor and didn't just get the shot it would only be $20. So I saw the doctor, completely unnecessary, but in some twisted health care way cheaper. I am now vaccinated for 5 years, and this is going to be my documentation of when I got my last tetanus shot so I won't forget. Bring on all the rusty nails I can handle! (Real nails not the drink)

After that fiasco Jenster, Teed and Mo came to our house for a grill out and some drinking on the front porch. I haven't had the opportunity to do this yet and needed a little relaxation after a nail went into my foot. Dinner and convo was good and after everyone left I watched the end of the Reds game on the tube.

Sunday was such a busy day for me that I'm going to write about it in a separate blog for all of you. Hopefully tomorrow and I can even include some pictures.

Reds Game

I haven't written in a couple of days so I thought I would brighten everyone's day with this wonderful post. I am sick of work lately. I wish I could just retire and not have to work again, but that is wishful thinking. If only I would have gotten engaged to a rich man; what was I thinking. I did tell a few more people at the Township of my impending nuptials, again much to their surprise, and I even got a hug out of it. Everyone wants to see the ring though and I can't provide them with it.

Last night Ando and I went to the Reds game at the last minute. Ando and I had never been to a Reds game just the two of us together. My dad called and said someone left two tickets with him if anyone could use them so he gave me a buzz. The tickets were right behind home plate in the lower section. We were late to the game, but not late enough to miss the Astro's 7 run inning. While we were at the game Ando took the opportunity to ask my dad if he could marry me. My dad told me to have Ando call him because he never asked his permission. This was a joke from my dad of course, but Ando went along with it. At first he just told my dad he was stealing me, but then asked if he was allowed to marry me. My dad said and I quote "I guess". Thanks for all the love dad!.

The seats we were sitting in were next to this guy, where the tickets came from, who was quite a talker and an Astro's fan. He just kept talking about the Astro's and Arroyo pitching while calling a bunch of his "buddies" and telling them about the game. He had at least 4 beers while we were there which I am sure it part of the reason he kept talking to us. The lady he was with wasn't too happy with him being obnoxious either. I guess that is the small price you have to pay for good, free tickets.

I don't really have anything else, but if I think of something or I have a funny story I will be sure to blog about it.

Impressions

Since nothing really happened on Friday I'm not going to write much about it. Ando and I just flew back from Vegas that day without much incident. There wasn't a frat party or Paula Dean family reunion on any of our planes this time around. We did however fly Frontier which has animals on all of its tail wings. They make sure to tell you who you are flying with each flight. Through all four of our flights our navigators were Charlie the cougar, who we had twice, Lobo the gray wolf, and Arctic & Clipper the polar bears. They did a great job navigating for us, job well done boys!

As you can imagine Saturday was mostly telling everyone that Ando and I got engaged while we were gone. I had to make sure and tell my parents in the morning since I was going to see my sister and brother in the afternoon that day for a Ravenchase, more on that later. When I called my mom in the morning we talked for awhile before I told her the news. She couldn't believe it and thought I was kidding at first. This seemed to be the most common response I got all day. I told her it was very true and she was so excited and couldn't believe it. My dad wasn't around, he was at his second job of taking Reds tickets, since they are so poor according to Teed! I didn't talk to him that day at all, but told my mom to tell him.

In the afternoon my brother and sister came over because we were doing a Ravenchase. I told both of them, who also couldn't believe it, but were also happy for Ando and I. While waiting for the chase to begin the Jenster and Mo both called to see if the blog was indeed true and Ando had popped the question. They couldn't believe Ando did it and didn't tell anyone he was going to. Amazement and happiness all around. Now the Ravenchase. It is a clue/scavenger hunt type race. You get clues and you have to solve them in any order you want to get the final end result made up of all the other clues. This one took place in Eden Park and was all on foot. We had to go to the Art Museum, Krohn Conservatory, the Reflecting Pond, and a few other places around the park. Team 2 Brownies and a Weblo, that was our name, didn't win. It was ok though because we still had fun, this was totally something up Shando's alley, and the prizes were "tacky" anyway. First through Third got a gold, silver and bronze flying plastic pig respectively.

After the race I called my other brother to tell him the exciting news and once again was asked if I was being serious. I told him indeed I was and he then proceeded to ask when the baby was due. No, I am not pregnant and that is why this is happening now. He said congrats and was happy for me as well. At night Ando, Jenster and I went over to Teed and Mo's for a grill out. Ando and I didn't really feel like eating out after having done that all week and we didn't really have anything to make since we hadn't gone to the grocery yet, which by the way we still haven't. Those three got to see the ring first!

My soccer session ended on Sunday with an exciting victory. Yep, another win and not a tie; our final record was 3-1-4. We came in second place in our league, not too shabby considering our last place finish last time I played. I was worn out for the game too since Jenster and I went running at Sharon Woods before hand. And we went fast as well; Jenster must have been feeling good and wanted to push me. Or it could have been that she was stressed from Babies 'R Us. We went to pick a few shower gifts up for Mo before our run. It is so hard to find anything in there and pregnant ladies are just running around everywhere. I made sure to get all my baby shopping out of the way in one trip so I didn't have to go back. You better like what I got you Mo, or I will cry all the way home from the shower.

After my soccer game I met up with Ando who was at his parents visiting his mom who just had surgery. I took some dinner, pizza I picked up on the way, with me to make sure she didn't have to cook. In true Ando family tradition the champagne was popped to celebrate the engagement. Ando's parents seemed as happy as mine that this day had finally come.

Today wasn't much fun; I just went back to work where I told all of my co-workers the news to their amazement as well. And after work I stopped by the jeweler to have the ring resized. It was too big for me and need to have it made smaller. I don't want to lose it so I tried to get it in as fast as possible. I will be without a ring for one week and now no one will believe that it actually happened.

Thanks to everyone for the congrats and well wishes; I know, I can't believe it actually happened either. My new final line will probably start consisting of what Ando and I are fighting about wedding wise.

Today's fight: How many people should we have in our wedding parties?

p.s. I added pictures to my previous posts for all of you.

Unexpected Visitors

On Thursday morning Ando and I went to breakfast and then had a craps lesson at our hotel before going to the conference again. I had one more thing to see at the conference and Ando needed to see what BEA was all about for his place of business. BEA is for educators so I didn't need any information.

After our last day at NAB we headed down to the opposite end of the strip than where we were staying to check out the hotel & casinos down there. It was more of the same with each hotel having a different facade and the interior looking pretty much the same as any other casino. We ate lunch at a California Pizza Kitchen, which I had never been to before. It was alright which means it really wasn't bad, but we both ordered things you couldn't mess up.

After three straight days of walking a whole bunch Ando and I headed back to the hotel for a little respite before Rando and Pablo met up with us. Yep, Rando and Pablo were on their way back from California and decided to meet up with us in Vegas. How odd to see those two in Vegas; I wouldn't have thought I would be meeting up with them out there.

We all walked part of the strip some more and got a few drinks while gambling at different casino's. This one had $1 margaritas that I am pretty sure were all sugar. I couldn't even finish mine it was that gross. They also had $1 Michelob's which I also took advantage of. Ando and I were planning on heading to old Vegas or downtown that night so Rando and Pablo came along. Old Vegas has cheaper table games and is much more quaint. I liked it more than the strip.

We finished up our gambling downtown and headed back to the strip near our hotel at The Excalibur. I couldn't find a cheap blackjack table so I went for the slots instead. I came to the conclusion that I'm not much of a slot girl. I didn't really win anything, but I didn't lose either. I would call it an even night. This meant it was time for Ando and I to head back before we lost money.

If you read my other blogs you would know there is no longer a tag line.

Wednesday

Wednesday was more NAB conference. Ando and I went separately this time because he bought a pass to go to some classes being offered. My work would not pay for this so I wasn't going to any classes on Wednesday with him. I still had a couple of things I needed to look at for work and knew I could do without Ando and I still had one whole hall I hadn't been to yet.

When I first got to the convention center I found the playback system and scheduler we use at our station to get a little more information. A dorky guy came up and asked if I had any questions, but it wasn't that smooth. I think he was little nervous talking to a girl, especially a pretty one right? There are not many girls walking around NAB especially younger ones.

In the afternoon I met up with Ando and we ate lunch together at the Las Vegas Hilton. It was then back to his classes and me walking around the hall. I finished walking around and seeing what I wanted to see at the huge conference so I headed back to our hotel. I took a little nap there while waiting for Ando to come back. I never really fell into a deep sleep, but it was still good to just rest my eyes.

When Ando got back to the hotel we both started getting ready for our night out on the town. We had made reservations for a nice steak house that night and I put on a dress and make-up. Yep Shando got all dolled up for a night in Vegas. I was even showing some cleavage in my dress.

Before we went to dinner Ando and I headed over to the MGM Grand for a drink ahead of time. We sat in a corner booth and ordered some drinks from the waitress. I was asking Ando if I should get dessert at the fancy restaurant that night, making a joke, and felt around his coat pocket when I felt a ring box. I asked what it was and he said I found it and asked me to marry him. Yep, Ando popped the question in Vegas and I ruined it, but in a way made it a true Shando and Ando proposal. I said yes of course and he put the ring on my finger.

After the drinks and proposal we headed off to dinner at the steak house. I had a couple of martini's and Ando had a seven and seven. The steak was delicious, the best I've ever had I'm pretty sure, and the potatoes and green beans were good too. The night was great and really couldn't have asked for anything more.

Ando and I went out for a fancy meal; He asked me to marry him!

Arriving in Vegas

I am going to write a series of posts about Vegas. Hopefully they will all be written today, but just with different titles.

We will begin with Monday which was mostly a travel day. I just finished packing in the morning before Ando and I headed out for Dayton at 1pm. We had to make a quick detour at the Library to drop off my materials as not to get a fine. While we were there we looked for a Vegas book to take with us, but couldn't find anything.

The drive up to Dayton was fine, but how I wish the airport was on the south side of Dayton and not the North. It was rare for me to see the Dayton Airport in the afternoon with a bunch of people bustling around. I usually only see the airport really early in the morning or really late at night. Our first flight went to Denver and then we hopped the second flight to Vegas. We arrived in Vegas at 7pm Pacific time. That night we just checked into our hotel, New York New York, and walked around the strip for a little bit.

Tuesday was of course the reason Ando and I were in Vegas for the NAB conference. We got some breakfast at our hotel before heading to the Convention Center to look through three halls worth of broadcast equipment. It is so large that we didn't make it through all the halls after walking around for 5 hours. My boss gave me specific things he wanted me to look at for work and Ando also had his own list of what he wanted to see. 5 hours of walking was plenty for one day so we headed back to the hotel.

That night we went walking again and headed to the Roscor party. Roscor throws a party every year for it's clients with free food and drinks, yes of the alcoholic variety. Ando and I went to the party under West Chester since I made the reservation and we use Roscor more than he does. They didn't have my name tag even though I made a RSVP so I thought maybe it was under my boss' name since the invite came to him. Ando then had to be my boss, but he didn't have a name tag either, but it was too late now. Ando became my boss for the night.

We ate a free meal and got a couple of free drinks before the entertainment for the night began. They get an awesome band to play the event every year. This year it was Starship. We got to see Starship live in Vegas.

We headed out of the party and hit up a few casinos, I won $35 at Treasure Island playing Black Jack, before heading back to the hotel and calling it a night.

Ando also won at Black Jack; He didn't use his winnings on a ring.

The Girls Will Play

My weekend flew by with Ando not in town. After my great date with Mo I did a little yard work on Saturday before it got too cold. Plus I had to cut the grass before leaving for Vegas. I then went and got my hair cut. My original appointment was at 4pm, but then it got moved up to 1:30 because of a cancellation. After my hairs got cut I went sopping for some shoes and a nice light weight jacket. I didn't realize how hard it is to find a jacket especially this time of year. Needless to say I didn't find a jacket, but did come away with a new pair of shoes. It was almost two pairs, but I stopped myself.

That night Mo, Jenster and I went out to eat at Kona. Just three lovely ladies out on the town together. I hadn't been to Kona in awhile and remember not liking it that much and thinking it was overpriced. I came away with a different feeling this time. It was good and I didn't feel like I paid too much either. When we were all finished with dinner Jenster and I met up with my cuz and some people he knew to go to Mainstrasse for a night out on the town without the boys. Well there were boys with us, but Ando and Teed weren't. I think Jenster was a bit overwhelmed at first, as was I really, but once some drinking took place it wasn't quite so bad. I have never seen people take so many pictures. I think a flash went off every thirty seconds the whole night. I must be in 50 pictures and I think Jenster is in 75.

Did some boys try to pick us up you ask. Well as a matter of fact, what a good name for a band, some did. This guy, TimTom, who was hanging out with us, he was a friend of a friend, I really didn't know who he was, was trying to pick Jenster up the whole night. He wasn't Jenster's type at all and wasn't getting the hint that she wasn't into him. I got hit on by some old dude, by old I mean 45 or so. He came over and said I see your not married. I should have said that was a sore subject, but I didn't go there. Luckily cuz saved me and we got away from the dude.

This was only my second experience at Mainstrasse, it's really not my scene, and I went to the exact same three bars as I did last time. For some reason these three bars must be the most popular that everyone goes to. After my small, same tour of Mainstrasse it was time to head home, but first there was a pit stop at Steak 'n Shake. Jenster and I split a burger and some fries. I haven't had Steak 'n Shake in ages plus I was a little drunk and it was 2:30am, all things that lead to a pleasant experience.

Sunday I didn't do much of anything. I wanted to start some laundry so I could start packing for Vegas, but I had to wait for Ando to come home since he needed laundry done as well. I did a little house straightening instead so the place won't be a mess when we get back. I had my birthday dinner with the fam at 5pm at Brazenhead Pub in Mason. It was my first time there. I would say it was similar to any other Irish Pub and Grill. It wasn't anything special, but it wasn't awful either. I got some more presents from my parents, brother and Grandpa. It was mostly money and of course a Reds schedule, I get one every year from my dad, and a new sewing machine. I have been asking for a sewing machine for a couple years now and finally got one. It is time to try my hand at some curtain making and a few other small things I need to sew.

After dinner I had a 10:30 soccer game to attend. I almost didn't go, but there really was no reason not to go. Ando was at work and just sitting around waiting for laundry didn't seem like much fun. I didn't play so great last night, but our team still came out with a........tie. Yep yet another tie for our soccer team. When I came home I finally started packing and getting ready for Vegas. I went to bed later than I wanted, but hey if you look at in Vegas time it was a reasonable bed time. I am just getting accustomed to the time change early.

Since I am headed to Vegas I don't know how much time I will have to blog this week or if I will have internet either. You'll have to keep yourselves entertained without me and be sure to check back Saturday when I tell you all about Vegas.

Ando went to Chicago; He didn't bring me back a souvenir like a ring.

Blue Chips

Sorry it has been so long since I posted. I really didn't have anything fun to write about and then I got busy later in the week. This post also isn't going to be so great since Ando took the computer with him and I won't be able to put any pictures up.

The beginning of the week was pretty slow without much incident, or should I say fun. Our new tree that we planted last fall "has got the buds" as Ando says. Hopefully it will bloom this year along with the wisteria. Last years wisteria was destroyed by the late season frost.

Thursday was my favorite day of the year, Blue Chips. I missed set up this year because I had another shoot on Wednesday and couldn't help. I would have much rather done my shoot on Wednesday, even though it was long, than help with the F scene that is Blue Chip se up day. From the stories I have heard it was still an F scene this year and I did pull the long straw.

Before heading to the Boats I met up with my boss at The Party Source to grab a few supplies since we were in the area. I stocked up on a couple of nice beers and some liquor. Ando requested a 22oz. Natural Light, but I couldn't find one and he got a six pack of tall boys instead. I am pretty sure he was making a joke, but he got them anyway. I only ended up spending $66 there, $100 less than my boss.

Nick Clooney was the host of our lovely cable access awards show this year that took place on the B&B Riverboats. I have no idea why someone so famous, and I do say famous loosely, would agree to host such an event. He deviated way too much from the script and made the show longer than it needed to be. We were all hoping to keep it under two hours, but will all the off the cuff remarks from Nick we went over. There was also an annoying camera lady who wouldn't stop talking and had no idea what she was saying. I was about ready to strangle her by the end of the night. Just one year I want to have an unimportant job for the Blue Chips. Once again I had do something important, Technical Direct this year. West Chester won one Blue Chip this year in the category of Sports Programming - Event. And when my boss accepted the award he thanked me in his speech!

When I was finished with my job I did get to go on the boat, yes the production truck stays on land during the awards ceremony, and have some drinks. My boss bought the first round and then I had a beer to finish the night off. It really was a beautiful night for a B&B Riverboat cruise last night. I thought it was going to rain and the river was going to be too high for the cruise to happen, but I was wrong. The night was warm and crystal clear.

I didn't get home until 12:20 or so and Ando was already in bed, but it turned out not sleeping. We had a few comments back and forth to each other, but nothing substantial since it was so late at night and Ando had to get up early the next morning.

My day today was trying to try up loose ends at work before heading to Vegas for NAB. Ando and I leave Monday morning so I may not be able to post next week in Vegas.  Ando did leave for Chi-town today with Teed for a boys music weekend. This is fine with me as I will have the whole bed to myself for a couple of nights.

Since Teed and Ando were out of town Mo and I hit the town together for a nice romantic date. We went to Asiana where I felt bad for drinking beer and eating sushi in front of her, but she said she didn't mind. We sat at the sushi bar, this is now our spot together at Asiana, next to a couple that was just finishing up. I wonder if they thought we were lesbians and Mo was carrying our child. I had a lovely date with Mo, maybe even better than I do with Ando. I have some things to consider me thinks.

Hopefully my next two days will be full of adventures for you all to read about with Ando out of town. I have some big plans that I can only hope will come to fruition without Ando holding me back. Stay tuned!

The biggest day of the year happened for me at the Blue Chips, Ando didn't propose on live TV.

Spring has Sprung!

Friday was just another day for me. I was off work all day and wanted to get a few things accomplished. Needless to say non of those things happened. I rose bright and early at 7:30am, on an off day mind you, because I just couldn't sleep with Ando in the bed for some reason. He wasn't touching me, but just his presence was bothering me. I sat on the couch for 2 hours waiting for him to go to work before heading back to bed. I made up for my 2 hours by sleeping just as long. By this time half my day was over. It didn't really matter though because it was rainy. I just lounged around the rest of the afternoon watching my soap.

The night brought on an art show by N² at Abode. Ando, Jenster and I headed down to check out her pieces and everyone else showing. It was a cramped little space with too many artists. They could have cut the line up by 2 to make it a little less overwhelming and enjoyable. After the art show we headed to Mt. Adams for some Thai food and Sushi at Teak. We found this was our one opportunity to go since Teed wasn't with us to complain about Mt. Adams. It wasn't crowded and were seated right away. The three of us split some sushi and one Thai dish. This is my new favorite way to enjoy both at the same time. Three people with one dish and some sushi is the way to go.

Saturday was of course more work for me. I love a good parade and that is exactly what I got on Saturday morning. Lakota put on a parade for their 50th anniversary. Tons of people showed up too, but at least it was a short route. After work since I was in the West Chester area I went to a shoe store on Tylersville. Bad Idea! I will never again get on Tylersville Road on a Saturday of my own free will. I just wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible.

On my way home is when the title of my blog comes into play. I got to hear the sounds of Spring for the first time. No, it is not birds chirping or kids playing outside; you guessed it, the sound of a dirt bike revving. On Ridgeland this is the true sign that Spring has sprung. After my elation of spring I went for a run around the hood and took a drywall knife to Ando and Teed for Teed's basement work.

That night Ando, Teed, Mo and I went out for dinner at Melt in Northside. Teed was the only one to get a meat sandwich. The rest of us all went vegetarian. When we were finishing up dinner Spec Fan called to see what we were up to for the night. We hadn't made any real plans so we met up with them at the Comet. It was a rare night for Spec Fan and DT to come out to Hamilton County for a night. It's always good to hang out with fresh blood too.

My Soccer game on Sunday made me get an early start to the day. We won the game too. Our second outright win of the season and amazingly not a tie. After soccer I decided to wash my car. It was such a nice day out and I hadn't washed my car in such a long time, so why not. I am way to detail oriented when it come to my car so it took me two hours to wash the inside and outside completely. When Ando got home from a little work we went to Lowes together for a few spring flowers. I planted some more seeds, herbs, and put down some grass seed where the grass isn't coming back from last years drought.

Ando and I grilled out some fish and made a little bok choy as a side dish for dinner. We also split a nice beer in the glasses A 'n P got us. Ando's parents aslo stopped by to pick up a couple of things from us we had borrowed.

Ando got rid of two computers that were just sitting around our house this weekend; this is almost as good as a ring so I'm not complaining this post.

West Chester U.

My last birthday celebrating came on Tuesday. Teed, Mo and Jenster all came over for some birthday fajitas. We were going to go out to eat and celebrate, but Ando and I decided we didn't feel like eating out. We also didn't put much effort into dinner. We had everything on hand to make fajitas so it really wasn't difficult. Jenster also brought over dessert of Pinwheels. Mo was eating one and got chocolate crumbs down the front of her. She has really let herself go since this whole pregnancy thing. Here is a picture of everyone dressed up for my birthday dinner.

On Wednesday I had to tape a West Chester University meeting. I bet you are all thinking it was a meeting about West Chester getting their very own University, but you would be sorely mistaken. That is what I thought the meeting was going to be about too, but in the end it was about road improvements to Route 42. The reason they call it West Chester University is because everyone is "learning" about West Chester when they go to these meetings. Not very many people attended; I bet they were all confused by the name as well.

Thursday brought on the annual Lakota Athletic Hall of Fame Dinner. I have never missed one of these Banquets since I started working for West Chester. You would think I could miss at least one year. The Dinner is held at a small Country Club and Lakota likes to set up two screens, one for a slide show and one for a live feed of our coverage. This "room", I call it room even though it is just one big open space, is too small with too many table set up to support two screens, but it had to be done. I kept asking the guy in charge where he wanted the two screens, but he couldn't make a decision to save his life. He was worse than Ando if that is possible. Finally I got so frustrated that I made the decisions for him. He still wasn't completely happy with the final placement, but the room is set up in such a way that you can't please everyone, so they stayed where I put them.

The night was painfully long with over the top speeches. I was surprised that only one person went with the standard, "First and foremost I would like to thank my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ." It was the very first inductee too, so the night just went downhill from there. Only three out of nine people cried as well. Last year one lady was so emotional she couldn't even do her speech so she said thanks and got off the stage. That's what I like to see, but alas that didn't happen this year; everyone gave a full speech.

Hopefully my weekend will be a little more exciting for you. It is Teed's birthday Sunday; I may pay him back for the shot he bought me. (Another lesson Joel?)

It's been rainy and depressing here; Ando hasn't lifted my spirits with a ring.

P.S. Both pictures were taken with the new Canon XTi.

Birthday Winnings!

My Birthday was Monday the 31st and celebrating started on Saturday. Since my birthday fell on a Monday we did a little bar celebration on Saturday. The evening started off by going to BW's in Clifton to watch the XU game. It was a disappointment's because they lost and were never really in the game. Our waiter was a huge hit though. ED and I got there early to make sure we had seats, which wasn't a problem, and that is when we had our first encounter with Chad. I thought he was high and told everyone my theory when they arrived, but we then came to the conclusion he just seemed high. By the end of the night he had no idea what we ordered or who ordered what. My bill had two less beers than what I had on it. When three of us paid with credit he came back, after 20 minutes, with all of our cards on different orders. We all went with it though, no need to confuse him any more. He was nice enough to tell us to come back and ask for him and he would comp us some appetizers because of all the trouble. Not so sure we will be headed back and asking for Chad.

After BW's and some ice cream it was on to Oakley Pub and Grill. Apparently this is now the official bar of Shando's birthday; this is where we went last year too. We had some heated discussions about brunch and how much Teed hates it and thinks it is just a trendy term. I have never talked so long about brunch in my life. We also talked about a baseball Budweiser sign where a player was holding a Michelob and this crazy girl dancing as she was putting songs on the juke box. She came with a date, but I don't think she sat with him the whole time they were there. She kept fooling around with the juke box and dancing while the guy just looked on. Teed also bought me a shot for my birthday, maybe Joel should take notes.

Sunday I had to go to work for a shoot in the afternoon. It wasn't too bad, but I was hoping to be finished a little sooner than I was. After work I came home and took a short little nap since I was tired and Ando wasn't home. I just lounged around the rest of the night waiting for my 9pm soccer game. We tied, again, we have to be the tieingest team ever, I don't think tieingest is a word.

Monday was my actual birthday. I only worked a half day trying to finish up a few loose ends from Friday. I then went out to lunch with Ando to Lemon Grass. I have been craving Singapore Noodles for a couple weeks now. They were everything I was hoping they would be. After my lunch with Ando, don't worry he paid, I went shopping. It turned out I wasn't really in the mood to shop. I know I rarely ever am, but I really wasn't yesterday. I tried to spend money, but just couldn't find anything I liked. All these baggy shirts need to go out of style. I look pregnant, sorry Mo, in all of them. It is going to be a long Spring for Shando clothing wise.

The night time brought on some gambling, well if you count bingo as gambling. My dad was calling for one last time and when you go on your birthday you get a free dauber, who could pass up such a wonderful gift! I won too, $75 on a coverall, the card in the lower corner half folded over. My mom even made a cake for me to share with everyone at intermission, cinnamon swirl, I am a sucker for all things cinnamon. It was the best birthday ever!

My birthday came and went; no marriage proposal from Ando.
